When I was little, my mom told me a story about my great-grandma that fascinated me. She said that when the family was living in New Jersey, my great-grandma was able to walk down the street, looking at the dresses in the shop windows and get inspiration, then go home and make that dress that she had seen. I enjoy sewing more because of this story. My grandpa (her son) sold Singer Sewing machines door to door as one of his jobs. He would teach people how the machines worked and how to sew a little with their machines after they purchased. He also taught me to sew. I am grateful these days that I am able to sew and...
While this special little one is a lovely addition into our family, she's also my sidekick. Many times, helping me retrieve fabric and items from the elves and keeping the pixies away from me. Those stinkers love tugging on my hair.
But this lovely gal keeps them away on our adventures.
One of my fondest memories with my family is spending a weekend participating in a reenactment and enjoying the people, the stories, and seeing each other in person. Hopefully, we will get to go to some events this year!
