My Inspiration, otherwise known as Why I started Sewing

When I was little, my mom told me a story about my great-grandma that fascinated me.

She said that when the family was living in New Jersey, my great-grandma was able to walk down the street, looking at the dresses in the shop windows and get inspiration, then go home and make that dress that she had seen.

I enjoy sewing more because of this story. My grandpa (her son) sold Singer Sewing machines door to door as one of his jobs. He would teach people how the machines worked and how to sew a little with their machines after they purchased.

He also taught me to sew. I am grateful these days that I am able to sew and learn more every day about how I can sew better, more efficiently, etc.
